Our theme: Welcome to Berean, "Where the Word is Alive" states how important the WORD is. WORD meaning the Word of God, but it also means Worship, Outreach, Relationships and Discipleship.
W - Worship. It is so important that we Worship God. There are so many things in this world to worship, but God is our focal point of Worship. Psalms 29:2 says, "Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."
O - Outreach. Our church believes in reaching out to others to tell them how good God is. This means visitation with the sick, those who are incarcerated, giving to the poor, reaching those who are without hope and so on. St. Luke 4:18 states, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,..."
R - Relationships. Love is the key that compels us to build relationships, fellowship and help our community know more about Jesus. Hebrews 13:1-2 says "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
D - Discipleship. We are committed to making disciples for Christ. St. John 13:35 states, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

Pastor Joseph T. Ikner attended Andrews University, where he
received his B.A. in Theology, Concentration in Pastoral Ministry
in 1997 and his Master's of Divinity Degree in 1999. It was while
at Andrews University that Joseph met the love of his life, the lovely
Nordia Graham. They joined their hands and hearts in December 1998
and have been happily married for the past 13 years. She is currently
a registered nurse and loves to worship the Lord through her musical gift.
Together they have one son, Joseph T. Ikner III, who is nine years old
who also serves the Lord through his musical gift on the percussions.
Pastor Ikner recently served at the Lighthouse SDA Church in St. Louis,
MO and now serves the Berean SDA Church in the St. Louis metropolitan
area. He is also the Prayer Coordinator for the Central States Conference
located in Kansas City, KS.
He loves the Lord and waits with great anticipation
with his family for the soon return of Jesus Christ.

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything
according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever
we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”
